Join us on 9 July 2025 for a 90-minute session exploring leveraging remote sensing data alongside GBIF’s biodiversity datasets. This session will explore how to access airborne, spaceborne, and in situ remote sensing datasets including LiDAR, imaging spectroscopy and thermal sensor datasets.
Using Python and various APIs, this session will give you notebooks to begin the journey of unlocking new possibilities for ecological and biodiversity research by demonstrating how GBIF APIs can be used in conjunction with remote sensing datasets to enhance analyses.
Notebooks will be created and sent out a week before the webinar for those who want to follow along with the demonstrations. While this is a technical webinar, feel free to come learn about remote sensing data as there will be short primers and lessons on the sensors too.
